Pepper chicken curry🥘🐓

Pepper chicken fry is a hot and spicy side dish served with plain rice, chapati, naan and many more. It goes well with most of the main dish and it is a perfect dish for cold and gloomy weather.

Pepper chicken can be made with simple ingredients that are available in the kitchen and the process of cooking is much simpler. Also, no need for any fancy ingredient, some pepper is enough to cook this delicious side dish. My husband always prefers to make this dish because of its taste and tiredness work in the kitchen.

Best to have it with rasam it goes well with it. Chickpeas/black chana rasam I have prepare my special rasam which taste best with it. You can eat this as side dish with sambar ice, pulao or veg rice.

Ingredients :
  • Onion – 3 large
  • Tomato. – 2 large
  • Bell pepper – 1/2 green or red
  • Curry leaves. – few
  • Olive oil. – 4 tbsp
  • Red chilli. – 3
  • Cumin. – 1 tsp
  • Chili powder – 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/ 2 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Bay leaf – 1
  • Cloves. – 4
  • Cinnamon stick. – 1/ 2 inch
  • Salt – 2 tbsp
For marination :
  • Chilli powder – 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 12 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Pepper powder – 2 tbsp
  • Salt. – 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Curd. – 3 tbsp
  • Lemon – 1/2 tsp
  • Boneless chicken. – 300 gems
Preparation:

Step 1 : MARINATION:

Wash and clean the chicken thoroughly and cut the boneless chicken into pieces then Add in a bowl all the spices that is mentioned below the marination list and marinate the chicken for at least 4 hours.

Step 2 :

In a pan add olive oil or ghee. Once it is hot add bayleaf ,cloves,cinnamon stick,red chili, curry leaves. Once they sizzle add in the chopped onions and fry them

Step 3 :

Once the onions are cooked put ginger garlic paste cook the. Until the raw smell goes off. Then add the marinated chicken to it stir them twice close and cover cook them for 5 mins. At this stage our chicken releases some water.

Step 4 :

Now add some pepper powder and mix them then add the chopped tomato give a stir and close the lid for the tomatoes get cook. Then add up the chili powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder and mix them gently and close them for the chicken to get its flavor for 5 mins

Step 5 :

Move in the chicken to one side of the pan. Now, add the thinly sliced bell pepper with some oil and sprinkle some salt and keep stirring them .

Step 6 :

Stir in the capsicums in a way that half of the pan covers the burner and rest of the flame is heating the capsicums for a smoky flavor.

Step 7 :

Finally ,mix them all together and adjust the pepper accordingly then put some curry leaves and serve them with chapathi/roti/naan/ghee rice or pulao.

Notes :
  1. Bone or boneless chicken both goes well for pepper chicken.
  2. Marinating for minimum 4 hours is important. You can also marinate it over night for softer chicken.
  3. Use pepper powder more than chili powder for best pepper chicken curry
  4. You can fry capsicum separately in a pan and add up the curry.
Notes:
  • Pepper chicken tastes best when added more curry leaves and black pepper and cumin seeds powder.
  • Marination is more important in pepper chicken curry. Marinate at least for an hour which makes the flavor and taste good.
