Raw Mango Curry

The Pacha Manga Pachadi / Raw Mango Curry Recipe is a tangy and sweet chunky mango chutney that is packed with taste and flavours from raw mango, jaggery and a delicious seasoning. Serve this pachadi as a side dish along with dosa, idly and roti.

This recipe is a traditional made on special occasion like weddings, festivals and especially Tamil New Year Day. The day is not complete without serving this dish on a big banana leaf accompanied by various other dishes. 

Serve the Tamil Nadu Style Pacha Manga Pachadi Recipealong with steamed rice, sambar or Rasam.

Ingredients:

  • Raw Mango πŸ₯­ – 1
  • Jaggery – 5 to 6 tbsp
  • Chili powder. – 1 tbsp
  • Salt. – 1 tsp
  • Oil. – to temper
  • Dry Red chili. – 2 to 3
  • Curry leaves. – few
  • Mustard seeds. – 1 tsp

Preparation:

Step 1 :

Peel off the Mango skin with peeler and cut them to small pieces leaving the seed . Now, in a small kadai add the chopped mango with some salt, chili powder and water and cover them with a lid for few minutes.

Step 2 :

Now , open the lid and check whether is it cooked completely. The texture of the curry should be silky and smooth paste. Now at this stage add in some jaggery and give a stir . Turn off the flame.In a small pan add in some oil and when hot add mustard sends when it cracks add the curry leaves and red chili sautΓ© them for few seconds and turn off the flame. Now , mix them together by adding little asafetida.

You can store them in refrigerator for 15 days.Eat them with white rice πŸ› , sambar or rasam.
